Swim caps

Swim Caps are great for keeping your head warm and hair out of your face, and they’re also used for ocean swim event identification and water safety.

In this lesson you will learn about two types of swim caps and get some tips on how and when to wear them.

Learning outcomes

  • Explain the difference between a latex and silicone swim cap
  • Demonstrate how to put on a swim cap
  • Recognise the benefits of each type of swim cap

Not just for the girls to keep their hair out of their face, swim caps are great for personal and event water safety and keeping your head warm in cooler water temps.

Latex caps are thinner and cheaper, silicone caps are thicker, longer lasting and warmer. To keep your head extra warm in cold water wear two silicone swim caps at the same time.
