ResetThe Australian Surf Life Saving Championships – ‘Aussies’ – is coming to the Sunshine Coast, and the 2km open water race is open to everyone!
Presented by 91.9 SEA FM, the 2km ocean swim is open to both surf lifesaving members and the public.
This swim embodies the essence of fun and participation and is one not to be missed.
Participants receive a swim cap and an Aussie’s Ocean Swim t-shirt as part of their entry.
For those swimmers participating who are surf lifesaving members, this is a championship event, and medals and points will be up for grabs for your club.
Note: This event shifts around wherever The Aussies is held each year.
Held on Mooloolaba Beach with the backdrop of The Aussies, you’ll feel like a superstar as you take on the course laid out in front of you.
Starting on the beach at Mooloolaba, you’ll swim out and around a rectangle course in a clockwise direction: 250m out, 750m to the right along the ocean side of the cans, 50m toward the beach, then a right turn for a second 750 along the beach, then a final left turn before heading 200m back to shore.
