Interview Snippet: Tanya Suggett

Tanya Suggett is on one hand a typical Warrnambool local who goes on holiday to the local caravan park, but on the other, she's a keen all-year-round ocean swimmer helping to grow the sport.

Date: 25 June 2020
Interview number: 011
Interviewee: Tanya Suggett, Warrnambool ocean swimmer
Pavilion Cafe & Bar, Warrnambool, Victoria

We met up with Tanya at the Pavilion Cafe & Bar after her regular 3km swim in the bay with swim buddy Karoline (who had to duck off to work). After a cold shower, we talked about the growing ocean swimming scene in Warrnambool – which she has helped facilitate, an awesome initiative a local swimmer implemented with the help of the local Council, and how ocean swimming provides the perfect escape from the madness of real life.

Tanya also shared with us her secret ‘chafe prevention’ cream and we got to watch the unique scene of horses training in the ocean at sunrise.
