Date: 8 August 2020
Interview number: 028
Interviewees: Gold Coast Open Water Swimming Club (Steven Cornelius & Peta Logan)
Venue: Kurrawa Beach, Gold Coast
We met up with club founder Steven Cornelius & (his trusty sidekick) Peta Logan after a gorgeous return swim north along the beach to discuss the formation of the registered swimming club, a rarity in the ocean swimming world, plus we dived into the ocean swimming scene on the glitter strip, the growth of the sport in SE Queensland and how marathon swimming has played a big part in the popularity of ocean swimming.
In this snippet from the full podcast interview, Peta is asked to describe the classic gold coast ocean swimmer, but she mishears for an interesting answer!
The full interview with the Gold Coast Open Water Swimming Club will feature on a new podcast episode coming soon…
