Sunshine Coast spring swim at Mooloolaba

The Sunshine Coast Spring Swim offers distances for every ability, a simple course layout for kids and beginners and longer events for competitive swimmers and triathletes in training.
Mooloolaba Beach is one of the mot popular beaches on the Sunshine Coast, and is the perfect venue to start this season’s ocean swims. Exciting courses and a range of achievable and challenging distances makes this event one for everyone. So choose a distance, get training and kick-start your summer!
Attractions such as the iconic Underwater World located nearby is the perfect dessert for families looking to turn a day out into a weekend away.
Supporting the local community
World Series Swims proudly supports The Kids Cancer Project to raise much-needed funds for childhood cancer research.
Every swimmer who raises $250 or more for The Kids Cancer Project will receive a full refund of their entry fee.
The event itself also promotes health and fitness, and encourages the local community to get involved in outdoor activity.
The 5km Grand Prix event has $300 prize money up for grabs for first place.
Junior Giants (300m & 1.25km)
The Junior Giants events are a great opportunity for kids aged 8 – 16 years to compete with other swimmers their own age. There are short & long course options to choose from:
300m Junior Dash (8 yrs to 16 yrs)
1.25km Junior Giants (10 yrs to 16 yrs)
Family and friends are encouraged to share the experience and swim the course alongside the kids in the 300m Dash. The 1.25km event will use the same course format as the Short Course event.
Every participant receives a free event t-shirt and a chance to win some great prizes.
Short course (1.25km)
The 1.25km short course is the perfect introduction for less experienced ocean swimmers. The course starts at the Southern end of Mooloolaba Beach (The Spit) and is a straight line down to the finish.
A simple beach start, flat water, straight course – easy.
Long course (2.5km)
This event is a great training goal for any ability. For the seasoned swimmers and triathletes, use this as a stepping stone for the summer ahead or a hit-out before your next event.
If you think 2.5km might be a stretch, use our transition halfway to check your progress before tackling the return leg.
Marathon distance (5.0km)
Test your mettle in a 5.0km marathon distance swim at one of nature’s great open water arenas – Mooloolaba Beach.
A 5.0km open water swim is not for the faint-hearted, but this course allows you to break up the longer distance into smaller, more achievable legs with a beach exit and simple configuration.
While you’re there
Mooloolaba’s Esplanade offers attendees the opportunity to bask in the beachfront beauty while wining and dining at top restaurants and cafes.

Mooloolaba has been identified as one of the safest and most family friendly Australian beaches.

There are multiple car parks surrounding the main beach, as well as street parking. Be mindful of time restrictions!
