The St Kilda Mile swim is staged at one of Australia's most vibrant beaches, St Kilda and finishes alongside the iconic St Kilda Pier.
The main event, One Mile, is one of the most popular open water distances around the globe and is achievable for any ability. Other events include a Half Mile short course, the 800m Junior Giants event for kids aged 8 - 16 years and the 3.8km Marathon - a chance for seasoned swimmers to push their limits.
Whether it's for training or a new personal challenge, join World Series Swims Ambassador Michael Klim and special guests to conquer the mile.
There's plenty of action in and around St Kilda once your swim is over, including something for the kids.

Supporting the local community
World Series Swims proudly supports The Kids Cancer Project to raise much-needed funds for childhood cancer research.
Every swimmer who raises $250 or more for The Kids Cancer Project will receive a full refund of their entry fee.
The event itself also promotes health and fitness, and encourages the local community to get involved in outdoor activity.
The St. Kilda Mile (1.6km)
One mile (1.6km) is one of the most popular open water distances around the globe and is well within reach for beginner and novice ocean swimmers. The course provides a point-to-point swim finishing alongside the iconic St Kilda Pier.
St. Kilda 3.8 (3.8km)
Test your mettle in the ultimate open water challenge - a 3.8km Ironman distance swim. This is the perfect hit-out for aspiring Ironman competitors or anyone looking to push beyond the traditional ocean swimming distances.
Half Mile (800m)
The 800m short course option is an ideal introduction to the open water for less experienced ocean swimmers. It is also an ideal stepping stone before conquering the Mile in years to come!
Junior Giants (800m)
The Junior Giants Series is a great opportunity for kids aged 8 - 16 years to compete with other swimmers their own age.
We also encourage family and friends to share the experience and swim the course alongside the kids.
The 800m event will use the same course format as the 800m Short Course event starting on St Kilda Beach.
Every participant receives a free event t-shirt and opportunity for a signing session with Olympic legend, Michael Klim and other special guests.
While you're there
After your swim, hang around the pier and catch a glimpse of the Fairy Penguins, duck back into the Botanical Gardens, take the kids to Luna Park or grab a coffee and something to eat from Fitzrovia, a popular little provincial English, all-day dining spot on Fitzroy Street.
Travel and parking
St. Kilda offers plenty of parking, both paid and free, around the location. Some areas are just a short walk from the beach, so be sure to get there early to secure a place close to the starting point.
