The Sri Chinmoy Lake Swims is held annually at the beautiful Yarralumla Bay on the southern foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin.
Swimmers can choose from three different distances; 500m, 2.5km or 5km open water swim in an around the buoys format.
With the calm waters of Lake Burley Griffin and varying distances, this swim is suitable for all swimming abilities from the novice recreational swimmer to the serious experienced swimmer.
Be sure to hang around after completing your swim to enjoy a post-swim pancake breakfast.
The swims are intended as a true test of swimming ability and skill, for swimmers not wearing wetsuits. Hence Awards are presented only to those swimmers who complete the event without wearing a wetsuit. Swimmers may wear wetsuits if they desire, though they will not be eligible for Awards.
