Noosa Summer Swim
Sat, 1 Feb 2020
The Noosa Summer Swim is a bucket list event for any keen ocean swimmer.
Noosa Main Beach is located in the heart of Noosa, stretching 1.2km long. It’s the perfect location for swimmers of all abilities to give ocean swimming a go.
The event includes a full weekend program offering everything from junior events to a 5km marathon distance, where seasoned swimmers can push their limits.
Join World Series Swims Ambassador Michael Klim and special guests for a huge weekend of sun and swims in Noosa, topped off with shopping, surfing or sightseeing in one of the gems of the Sunshine Coast.
The 5km Grand Prix event has prize money up for grabs… 1st ($750), 2nd ($300), 3rd ($200)
The Junior Giants Series is a great opportunity for kids aged 8 – 16 years to compete with other swimmers their own age.
There are two distances to choose from:
300m Junior Dash (8 – 16 yrs)
1km Junior Giants (10 – 16 yrs)
Family and friends are also encouraged to share the experience and swim the course alongside the kids in the 300m Dash.
Noosa 1.0 (Short course)
The calm, sheltered waters of Noosa are excellent for all abilities, so this short course is an ideal stepping stone for longer distances, or to conquer your first open water event.
Noosa 2.0 (Long course)
The Noosa 2.0km is the most popular event on the program.
The course takes you out and back from Noosa Main Beach towards the Noosa National Park. For those taking on their first long course event, there is an option to start with friends and other weekend warriors in the Mates Wave.
Noosa 3.0 (Long course)
If you’re looking for a new challenge or a longer distance, make the 3.0km course your next training goal.
All swimmers are able to choose their own wave start group, so find a training partner or friend and take up the challenge together.
1.5km Social Swim
This is one ‘hot lap’ of the Grand Prix course and is a chance to swim a different course format from Saturday’s events.
It’s relaxed, social and only as competitive as you want it to be!
5.0km Noosa Grand Prix
This is the big one, a 5.0km marathon distance swim!
The 5.0km Noosa Grand Prix will be contested by some of Australia’s most talented pool and open water swimmers.
The multi-lap course around the sheltered waters of Noosa Main Beach is the perfect opportunity for any swimmer to push their limits beyond the typical open water distances.
Elite swimmers will compete for over $5,000 in cash and prizes.
While you’re there
Whether it’s shopping, surfing or sightseeing, Noosa has everything there is to offer for you and your family.
Hastings Street is lined with high-end boutiques and exquisite cuisine that will please even the fussiest of family members.
The area is labeled one of the best places to surf in Queensland, with typically perfect weather and swell.
Travel and parking
There are two larger car park areas at the end of Hasting Street and a small car park and street parking surrounding the surf club (these two areas have time restrictions).
