Designed specially for beginner ocean swimmers, VITALITY ocean fitness sessions will give you an opportunity to develop your ocean swimming techniques, increase your fitness and become confident in a range of ocean conditions.

There is a strong focus on ocean awareness, working with the ocean and stepping outside your comfort zone.

VITALITY is designed for participants with an average swimming ability who can expect shorter swim sets, longer rests and maximum enjoyment! But don’t worry, you’ll be pushed enough to make sure you get the fitness benefits that will make you a stronger ocean swimmer.

With only six participants per session you can feel confident of your safety and enjoy personalised coaching and feedback.

This is our most popular ocean fitness class! Be quick to book these, and if you want to be in the same group as a friend, check availability and then ensure you both sign up at the same time.

Common questions

This is a beginner-friendly class and it accommodates all levels. In saying that, if you have concerns you may not be able to keep up, or will be too fast and want more out of this class, please contact Andre.

If you are interested in this class and are yet to participate in the prerequisite Learn to ocean swim clinic, let your instructor know at the clinic and they will assess your suitability at the clinic.

Ocean fitness classes are delivered in blocks of 8-weeks, with each block consisting of one class per week. There is one block scheduled in the lead up to Christmas, and  one scheduled from the second week after New Years.

During some seasons, if the weather is consistently nice, we may run a pre-season and/or post-season blocks. These are communicated to participants and times are managed around the sunlight hours available.

No. Participants need to sign up for a whole block of eight classes upfront.

Due to our extremely small class sizes (1:6), we do not have the capacity to offer make-up classes or refunds for classes missed. We will do our best to accommodate you in another class if space becomes available, but there is no guarantee and we are not obliged to.

Why would you want to miss a class anyway?!

Our instructors are pro’s at managing different levels of ability within a small class, so in the first instance you will need to remain in this class until the end of the block.

In the meantime, we suggest you sign up and participate in the Negotiating the surf clinic so you can sign up for ENERGY in the next block.

Casual classes are only available where spots are available. First option goes to participants currently registered in the block, then to other previous participants (who have been unable to register for a whole block).
