North Cott Splash n Dash
Sat, 24 Mar 2018, 8:00 AM
The North Cott Splash n Dash is for recreational swimmers looking to have some sporty fun and for the more serious swimmers looking for a timed open water event.
Kids don’t miss out either with a short and medium distance course.
Those who are first timers can have a parent swim/wade with them in the short course. As long as you are six years old in 2018, you can splash ‘n’ dash.
Everybody is invited to dive in, and join this family-friendly, swim and run event. Participate or volunteer, spread the word to your family and friends, and most importantly, come along and have fun!
Swim or dolphin dive for 50m along the beach in waist deep water followed by a 250m beach run to the finish line! There will be plenty of water safety and parents and guardians can also swim and run alongside their child. Small groups will start in waves. Participants must be at least 6 years old as at 31 December.
Swim out to the turn-around buoys and then back to the beach. Once you are out of the water, run 500m along the beach to the finish line. Surf lifesavers will be out on the water to help guide your way. Participants must be at least 10 years old as at 31 December. If you are 10 years old you can still participate in the short course. Why not race Mum or Dad in this one?
Swim 1km in a loop from North Cottesloe beach. Once out of the water, run 1km on soft sand back to the finish line at North Cott. This race will be timed and prizes awarded to male and female individual winners. All finishers go in the draw to win some exciting prizes.
Enter as a team, one does the swim leg, one does the run leg. Both will receive finisher prizes. Participants must be at least 14 years old as at 31 December.
