Bay To Boulders ocean swim
Escape the hustle and bustle and take a trip to South West Rocks to take part in the beautiful Bay to Boulders Ocean Swim.
Bay to Boulders offers athletes a 250m and 700m swim as well as a tougher 2.6km course at Trial Bay, South West Rocks.
With some of the clearest water you’ll find along the Australian coastline, the 750m and 2.6km swims start at Horseshoe Beach and finish by the rocks on Main beach.
Clear the weekend schedule and take some time to relax and explore what South West Rocks has to offer.
With a number of swims on offer for different ages and abilities, the whole family can get involved.
For the 250m ‘Boulders Dash’ swim, competitors must be at least 10 years of age. The swim is around the gorgeous and fairly calm Trial Bay.
The 700m course starts at Horseshoe Bay and runs around the headland and on into the wedge. This allows spectators to watch the race from start to finish, following the headland.
For those more experienced ocean swimmers, there is also the 2.6km ‘ Bay to Boulders’ event, which also starts at Horseshoe Beach. The course makes its way around the headland and along Main Beach, finishing near the rocks. Swimmers must be 13 years of age or over to take part.
While you’re there
There are plenty of exciting sites to explore and things to do in South West Rocks. You’ve got the option to go and explore the sites or relax by the beautiful beaches.
The Smoky Cape Lighthouse offers amazing scenery and is well worth the short trek. The Trial bay Gaol sits in a stunning location and provides incredible history. Or for those ocean lovers, who can’t get enough of it, go and explore the underwater beauty of the area with a diving adventure.
